My story

Senior Dutch shepherd needs forever home! Please consider making a place in your home for this amazing dog!
Java is an extremely sweet Dutch Shepherd, approximately 8 years of age. She was found as a stray outside of Chicago, running along with a younger male. After an extended stay in a local shelter, Java gave birth to one puppy. NADSR found out about the family immediately and arranged for all of them to be taken into foster care.

Java was an extremely devoted mom, and took excellent care of her one puppy through some very stressful times. It is also very evident that her previous life was a difficult one. The tips of her ears have been permanently injured from flies or previous blood clots, and her teeth have either been filed down or worn down chewing on fencing. Yet, she has been in foster care for over 2 months now and has not shown a single bit of anxiousness, aggression or destruction. She gets along great with all people, other dogs and is indifferent to the cats. Java is extremely affectionate and very playful. She understands some german commands, and it seems like she had some competitive obedience training at some point. Her "Fuss" and "Sitz" are very solid!

Java deserves to spend her senior years receiving the love and affection that she so clearly was deprived of.

Java is 65 pounds, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on vaccines. She is located in Cookeville, TN but NADSR does adopt out nationally.
