Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Birthdate: 5/17/11
Gender: Female
Breed: Puggle (Pug/Beagle)
Siblings: Jan, Marcia, Cindy, Greg, Peter, Bobby
Mother: Carol
“Here’s the story
Of a lovely Puggle
Who was bringing up six very lovely pups..”
Three boys, three girls.. what else could we possibly name them but The Puggle Bunch!
What a wonderful mom Carol has turned out to be. When her pups were only a week old, she found herself and the kids suddenly squeezed into a cardboard box and taken for a car ride that ended with the whole lot of them by the side of the road.
Luckily, a Good Samaritan spotted the box and rescued the family before anything bad happened to them on the busy road. They were originally planning to take them to the pound, but with Carol’s babies as tiny as they were, they wouldn’t have stood a chance, so in another stroke of luck, they were directed here to New Lease on Life where they have been showered with love and attention since the moment they arrived.
Although having cats isn’t a requirement to adopt one of these cuties, if you do have cats in your family, you won’t find a better group of puppies to choose. At the time they arrived at the shelter, the only available space we had was in the cat room. Thankfully Carol adores cats and made herself right at home. In fact, before their eyes were even open, the pups were cared for by the cats. Whenever Carol took a break from nursing, one of the cats would run right over to snuggle up to the puppies and keep them warm.
Even now at 9 weeks old, the puppies think it’s perfectly normal to be with the cats. All day long, the cats jump in and out of the puppy pen, playing with the pups and sometimes even grooming them.
But don’t worry, the pups do know that they’re dogs. Their mom made sure of that. They get along great with other dogs, and they also love children. We have many kids who volunteer at the shelter, so the pups have been handled since Day 1 by all ages.
The pups’ mom, Carol, is definitely a Puggle, and it looks like the puppies are too. We’re expecting them to be Mom’s size as adults, so potential adopters should plan on a 20 – 25 pound dog.
The pups are not yet spayed/neutered, but this will be done BEFORE you take them home. Everyone is being fixed July 28 and July 29, and they can go home with you the day after their surgery, so you only have a few days to wait.
But you DON’T have to wait to meet them. Call 330–397–8270 to schedule an appointment to meet them at the shelter before their surgery because these pups will be adopted quickly. After meeting them and choosing your favorite, you can fill out an adoption application. If approved, you must leave a 50% deposit ($100) to reserve your puppy. Your pup can then go home with you the day after surgery.
