Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My Bonnie Blue!
Bonnie is a boxer/lab mix that was abandoned when she was just a baby and brought to Sweetpups. She is very loving and appreciative of any affection given her. She has the classic boxer personality in that she gets very excited when she sees her people. She is working to curb her tendency to jump when she is happy and we will continue to work with her until she is adopted. This is her one drawback to her relationship with children. She would be a great dog for homes with older children.
Bonnie is actually a very fortunate little lady that captured hearts from the very beginning. She was left in the woods with her boxer mother and her brother (you may remember Clyde). A wonderful man finally caught the two puppies but was unable to catch the mom. He couldn't keep the dogs but saw them starving in the woods and was unwilling they should die a slow and painful death of starvation. He kept them for a couple of days and then not knowing what to do, took them to the local pound and turned them in as the stray pups they were.
What he did not know was they had touched his heart in a special way. He lay for two nights in his bed thinking of these two dogs that were soon to be put to sleep. He tossed and turned and decided he couldn't live with this being the end result for these two puppies so he went to the pound and paid $30 each to adopt them back! Of course his situation had not changed and he still could not keep them but he couldn't let them die. He took them to our wonderful vet and of course, the rest is history. Clyde is adopted and we hope he is living the good life with his family but Bonnie is still waiting, a year later to have her forever people come to adopt her. We will keep on loving this girl andpraying for a home where she can be loved for the precious girl she is FOREVER!
Bonnie is a very healthy girl, up to date on shots and spayed. She is heartworm negative and on prevention. Adoption fee $100. Please email us for an application and an appointment to meet this beautiful girl.
