Beau is a beautiful young dog who was surrendered to RRUFF by an owner who was moving to an area that has breed specific legislation prohibiting Rottweilers. Sadly, this is a problem that is becoming increasingly threatening to our beloved breed. To learn more about breed specific legislation visit: http://www.stopbsl.com/ .

Beau is learning how to act appropriately around other male dogs and that real world stimuli (like busy parking lots, pet supply stores, etc) are ok and fun! Beau has a good understanding of many obedience commands (sit, down, stay, wait, etc) and while Beau continues to practice these important skills he is also working on his leash walking as well as learning his name. He is seeking a forever home that is ready to continue his socialization with classes and family field trips.

Beau has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines and has had x-rays to clarify some hip soreness he experienced when entering foster care. Beau has mild hip dysplasia which the veterinarian feels will not need surgery if he is maintained properly with over the counter supplements.

Beau is being fostered in CT with a female Bull Mastiff sister and two young human siblings.
