Update 6-19-11: Ellie has made a lot of progress since being in her foster home. She is continuing to learn to trust people & has learned life can be enjoyable instead of just scary all the time. She trusts men more than women but is "warming up" to women. Her coat is growing in nicely & is becoming very pretty - white with cream color mixed in. She is smart & has learned a lot from watching her foster siblings - a male mini. schnauzer & female boxer. She really enjoys being around other dogs, playing, & exploring outside. She is about 95% housetrained. Due to the poor start she had in life, she will need someone to cont. to be patient with her but she will be a very loyal & sweet pet. Her pretty eyes & sweet spirit will melt your heart.
update 5-20-11: Ellie is doing really well in her foster home, she is starting to explore and becoming less shy of her surroundings. She is learning that playing with her foster siblings is an enjoyable activity. She is working on trust with humans but is making great strides on this. Her foster home reports she has not had an accident in the house in a week and no longer has to be carried outside. For a mill survivor she is making great progress. Do you have room in your heart for Ellie?
Ellie was transferred to us by a local shelter after she was seized by the Department of Agriculture. This little girl is scared and shy of people as she has been in a puppy mill situation her entire life. She has been vetted, spayed, teeth cleaned, and moved to a foster home where she can work on trusting people. She will take some time but is already making small prgressive steps. she is shaved as for unknown this occurred prior to seizure. With time her beautiful schnauzer coat will grow back. Watch for updates on Ellie.
