My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 12/07/2011: Foster mom reports that Star is still her shadow; in fact, she gets very concerned when she can't find FM in the house. She is OK when she sees FM leave, but she panics if she just disappears. Star just runs around trying to find FM, without barking. Star also continues to be Super Mom to all the doggies in the house, and the people, too. Star is sooooo loyal and loving, so why hsan't someone adopted her yet? It would be pawsome if Star could have her own forever home for Christmas, wouldn't it?

GOOD NEWS ON STAR'S VET VISIT!!!!

UPDATED BIO 07/16/2011 STAR is 6 years old and weighs approximately 7#; she is being fostered in Boynton Beach, FL. At the shelter, the vets initially diagnosed Star with a puncture wound to her eye and sewed it shut, hoping it would heal on its own; however, Foster Mom has taken Star to the doggie eye doctor and there's GOOD NEWS! He removed the stitches from her eye, and did a thorough examination - Star doesn't have a puncture wound after all! He diagnosed her with Dry Eye Syndrome (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS)in both of her eyes, and said that she has had this condition for a while; she will require a combination of three eyedrops several times a day for a month - once the inflammation has cleared, Star will most likely need to have drops put into her eyes for the rest of her life. You can read more about this condition in dogs here......http://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/eyes/c_dg_keratoconjunctivitis_sicca

INITIAL BIO 07/14/2011: MEET STAR! She is 6 years old and weighs approximately 7#; Star is being fostered in Boynton Beach, FL. Star was a stray brought in to a high kill shelter; when she came in, she had a puncture wound to one of her eyes. This must have been very, very painful to her - bless her heart. The shelter sewed her eye shut, and we are hopeful that there will be no infections as a result of this. Star has just come into rescue, so not much is known at this time about her personality, so please watch for updates on Our Little Star!
