Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Daisy is darling! She is a Golden and Labrador Retriever mix and is about 4 months old. Daisy's foster mom is having a ball with her, and writes:
"Daisy is super sweet and she loves to play with other dogs and people too. Her cute little wrinkles make her face so expressive. She runs around the yard like it's a race track. She is taking mange meds and should be looking great real soon; her coat will be gorgeous. No worries either because it is not contagious to people or other animals. Daisy is very outgoing but if you raise your voice or make a loud noise, like a clap, she will flatten out on the ground like a pancake.
Daisy knows how to play fetch and she beginning to learn basic commands and will be so much fun to take to doggy school. She enjoys her dog walks with you. She is crate trained although she doesn't like it much. She will be great with another dog or as an only dog as long as make lots of Daisy time and she is so sweet that you won't want to leave without her. I can't say enough how really sweet she is. She is always so happy to see you that she does the whole body wiggle. Soooo cute!
We will send new pics later today as soon as I can get her to sit still!"
Please remember that GRFR adopts puppies to forever families who have sufficient time at home to socialize, house train and nurture their new puppy.
Currently Daisy is being treated for Mange. Demodectic mange (unlike Sarcoptic mange) is not considered a contagious disease and isolation of affected dogs is generally not considered necessary.
Puppies need all 3 booster shots before they can go out into public places. Puppies should not leave your home or your yard or be exposed to any other dogs unless you are certain the other dogs (i) have been fully vaccinated and (ii) are older than six months, and (iii) have not been around any dogs who may not be fully vaccinated, e.g. If your dog has been to a dog park. Your puppy should not go to parks or Petsmart or anywhere else until they have their last booster shot, as they could contract a potentially lethal virus. You also will want to bring your puppy to your vet very soon after the adoption for their personal checkup and to get a baseline for their health. Since many puppies need a dewormer, or two, we encourage you to discuss this with your new puppy's vet during their first visit as well.
The adoption fee for GRFR puppies is $300 and the following appointments for Daisy will be covered if done at one of our participating vets: her rabies shot at sixteen weeks and the spay surgery at 5-6 months. Her new family will be contacted by our Vet Coordinator when the time is near.
GRFR has a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit for all dogs that have not been altered at time of adoption. The applicant that adopts Daisy will be required to pay the $100 deposit. Once GRFR has confirmation of the spay, the deposit will be refunded.
To give a great GRFR puppy their forever home with your family, apply today and our volunteers will be in touch.
