Update 7/12/11: Meet Sandie!
Sandie is an adorable little 2 year old, 12lb Shih Tzu. She was rescued from a local kill shelter.
Sandie is staying in a foster home with one of our volunteers until she finds someone who wants to adopt her. Sandie has made herself right at home and believes she is a little princess. She is friendly to the dogs and cats in the house, but she likes to be the center of attention. Sometimes she chases the dogs away so she can have her people all to herself. Such a silly little princess!
Sandie like to be at your feet or on your lap. Petting is a wonderful thing. Sandie also enjoys walks. But her favorite thing is car rides! Sandie does a crazy, happy dance when it is time to ride in the car.
Sandie is well behaved. She doesn't try to chew anything inappropriate and she is housetrained. It is apparent Sandie had some sort of traumatic experience with a collar or something that was placed around her neck because she will panic if you put a slip leash or collar on her. Instead, we simply use a harness on her and that makes her very happy.

Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we
do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
We try to make our adoption process as
easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit
www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.
