Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jackson is a super sweet, mellow and SMART black male. He was picked up by animal control as a stray and put at the pound. Being a big, black dog, his chances were not great in there. We pulled him immediately and other than a slight case of kennel cough and a bad ear infection.. was just as happy as could be.
He has been neutered, is UTD on shots, microchipped and available for adoption. The pictures don't do him justice, he is a GORGEOUS guy and knows some commands. Someone had obviously worked with him because he does listen.
The following paragraphs were written by his foster mom over her first few days of having him.
Jackson is quite mellow and gentle. He is great with kids and other dogs. He walks great on a leash and obviously has had some training. He knows sit, lay down, stay (pretty good )and we will soon find out what other commands he knows.
He listens so well. Last night while we were eating I had the dogs go "out" to the other room and lay down. They all went out and Jackson and Dakota laid down but Bandit (Brat) wouldn't so I was telling Bandit to "lay down". Jackson must have thought I was telling him too but he was already down so he rolled over to expose his belly, legs up in the air as if to say "look I can't get any more down than I already am.... what more do you want from me"?!?!?! It was very cute.
He plays fetch, loves squeaky balls and toys but isn't too sure about tug yet. When Bandit comes up and grabs a toy to play tug he just lets it go and watches Bandit walk off. Poor Jackson....but he will go get it back when Bandit sets it down.
More updates to come as he spends more time with us. He is really very easy so far and just a big love.
OH AND HE IS HOUSETRAINED ALREADY without a dog door, he will go sit by the door to be let out. He has learned the dog door too. No accidents yet or marking. Smart boy I tell ya!!

This boy is so sweet. I took all three to the park yesterday and he just ran and ran and ran. He has this big lopey (is that a word?) gait that is so funny. He would run and get the ball and bring it back and drop it (drop it command...."drop it". yay!) Sometimes he would run right past me but he was absolutely loving just running around.

This boy is sooooooo easy to have. I left him out of the crate yesterday while I was at work, NOTHING chewed, reearranged or touched!!!! He has not caused ANY trouble, he will go in the crate when you ask him to, he lays down when you ask him to, he sleeps all night, goes outside to potty, isn't pushy or bossy with humans or dogs (teeny bit of humping with Bandit but not too bad), he gets along great with the kids and the baby... sniffs but doesn't lick or jump on them. I'll have to get some pics of him with the grandkids. He rides great in the car and listens and comes when called. I have had him at an enclosed park so I don't know how great his recall is in an open area....... yet.
He does like to cuddle and to be petted and will lay his big old head in your lap for some good scratching. Why someone was not looking for him is beyond me but their loss, our gain! He is an awesome dog!!!!
