Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This Poor girl's story touched our hearts and of course we fell in love with her too. Lady is being
fostered by the kind people that found her. This is the letter they wrote to us;
Sometime around May 6th. Someone in a white van stopped on Carpenter Drive, slid open the door and a dog was pushed out. The van sped off and the dog tried to catch it until she couldn't run anymore. She walked back to where the van had stopped and waited for it to come back--it never did.
This was witnessed by someone who was unable to get a license number. The witness continued about his business and noticed later that the dog was gone.
On Saturday, May 7th, she was found wandering around the street. We picked her up and took her in. As we went to all the neighbors looking for possible owners, we found the man who witnessed the dumping and we stopped looking for someone who might be looking for her.
She had no hair from her shoulders back. Her back was covered with little bumps and the skin was severely inflamed. It was evident that she had recently had a litter of puppies (of course, we have no idea where they might be). We named her Lady because she needed some dignity in her life and that name fit her.
We contacted the Vet and he diagnosed her with demodectic mange. He prescribed a treatment and we began administering the weekly pills on Wed. 5/11. The Vet also gave her all appropriate
vaccinations. He estimated her age at about 18 months.
Lady has shown herself to be a very gentle dog. Full of enthusiasm and loves to play with people and other dogs.
I am attaching some pictures of Lady. They are from 5/13 (shortly after we found her) and 6/05 (about 4 1/2 weeks into her 6 week treatment).
These pictures show what she looked like before the treatment and what she looks like now.
She will be spayed as soon as the skin condition heals and then she will be ready to brighten up some lucky family's life.
