My story

4/16/07 - As with most rescues Keena has not had the best that life has to offer. Her former owner crated her for long periods of time and left her medical needs unattended. Since entering foster care Keena has proved to be a loving companion who is happiest when close to her family. Keena is being fostered in MA with her 2 female dog siblings and 4 older human siblings.

RRUFF is very proud that this sweet girl was the first recipient of the Sienna Fund. On November 30, 2006 Keena had a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgery to repair her torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Keena had to be kept quiet for several weeks after her surgery to ensure proper healing. Once the bones have healed TPLO patients begin rehabilitation. Rehabilitation activities build gradually and are focused on stretching surgery scar tissue and rebuilding muscle.

Keena has completed her rehabilitation and is now making up for lost time and enjoying life! She can now romp and play with her foster siblings. Keena especially enjoyed playing in the snow.

Keena graduated Beginner obedience, at Progressive Canine in March 2007, with her foster parents. She does well with her basic commands: sit, down, stay, heel and come. She crates wonderfully, is housetrained and is up to date on vaccines.

Keena is an amazing girl who has stolen all the hearts of the volunteers she has met.
