My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Nellie's foster mom: Nellie was at a shelter in Franklin County, Ohio. The shelter contacted ESRA and asked us to help this girl. Nellie had some masses removed, a tooth extracted, and her teeth cleaned. Since coming to her foster home, Nellie has showed us that she is not as old as was first thought.

Nellie is a sweet girl and is a Velcro dog. She stays by my side and follows me everywhere. She likes to play with toys and will bring them to her humans for play. She gets along well with the resident Springer, the cat, and the other dogs she has met on walks. She is getting better at walking on leash every time she goes out. Nellie loves to ride in the car and will eagerly jump in. She will look out the window for a while and then settle down for some snooze time.

Nellie is housetrained. She will go outside to do her business but will quickly let you know that she wants to come back in by barking at the door. She knows the commands Sit, Down, and Stay. Nellie needs to lose about eight to ten pounds. Daily walks as well as a reduced calorie intake are helping with this.

Nellie has adapted quickly to her foster home, and we are sure she will adapt just as quickly to her new Forever Home. All she needs is a loving family who is looking for a loyal, affectionate companion. Is that family yours?
