Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bear came into rescue in May after being picked up by a concerned person who answered an ad on craigslist for free puppies.
A lot of the early puppy training is being completed. Bear has been in his foster home about a month. He had his 2nd set of puppy shots and will have to be neutered before going to his forever home.
Potty training is coming along nicely. He is kept on a schedule and he is going in and out with his foster home’s other dogs. He has learned to go out a dog door and will sometimes go out by himself to potty.
He is crate trained and has never had an accident in the crate. He has no problems riding in the car in his crate. Bear sleeps all night in his crate in the bedroom. He potties and is put his crate between 10 & 11 p.m. Not a peep until he gets up around 7:30 a.m. He goes to his foster mom’s work every day. So his social skills are growing. He loves everyone and all dogs. He has very little fear. He walks on lead along a busy street where he is learning about noisy cars and trucks.
Voice correction is working very well; a ‘no’ command will stop any unwanted behavior. He loves his treats and will do almost anything for a tasty bit of chicken. He knows come, sit, watch and we are working on down, stay and wait. He shows no sign of resource guarding. There seems to be no retrieve but he does like to tug.
He went to a "dog day in the park" event in MI this past weekend. Lots of people and children looking at him. He was a star. Everyone loved him and he loved everyone. He was one tired little boy when he got home.
