My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Then only special need I have is a foster to adopt or adopter. Mickey has lived all his life in a kennel, being used for breeding. He did get good socialization as his breeder was akc and took good care of his dogs. However they have not had the full time attention and love they longed for living in a kennel. So far with our exam and regular vetting Mickey appears to be in excellent health. He is having a dental cleaning done, neuter, heartworm test and passed, annual 5/1 shot and rabies shot. He will be raring to go to find a new home and get out of living in a kennel.

Please consider helping Mickey, he is a black and silver mini schn, with cropped ears and docked tail.
He is social, friendly, knows most everything except full time living in a home. He once lived in the home with small children, until there were too many dogs in the house so he was moved to the kennel. Mickey is a mature schnauzer and he is very active. He runs all over the fenced in back yard, he is leash trained, house trained just needs a refresher course, and good with people.

Mickey is 11 years young but schnauzers can live to be 18 years old and he appears to be in good health and very active. Doesn't show his age at all. Please consider helping him have a life outside of a kennel. The kennel is not heated in the winter and we just hate to leave him there. So he is still there waiting for a foster to adopt or adopter to help him get a new loving life. He has so much to give someone to make up for all the lost time loving his owner.

Mickey's adoption fee is $a donation of your choice; It will include all his vetting which will be about $200 which we will try to absorb so he can find a loving family or home. He will be microchipped too. Mickey is being held at the kennel in Deerfield until we find a foster home, foster to adopt program or adopter. Is MICROCHIPPED.

Most of our dogs need a sibling furkid, someone to play with and interact with and continue to learn being a pet after adopted. Some are independent and can be an only dog. Not all need a fenced in yard, but if you don't have a fenced in yard, we ask you to purchase an exercise pen so that the dog can be safe when outside and small dogs can not be tie out dogs. This pet needs
Not all our dogs are totally house trained at the time of adoption. We crate train them and some potty pad train them and work on potty skills. When your application is approved, you will speak with the foster Mom for more information and you can check then at what point each foster dog is at. Dogs learn quickly and most are pretty far along or trained by the time of adoption.

____ has been examined by our vet, had a 5/1 annual shot, a rabies shot and tag dewormed, heart worm tested and passed. Spayed or Neutered before adoption. Our rescues are on flea/tick and heartworm monthly preventatives in season. We also do a dental if our vet deems it necessary which is included in our adoption fee.

Our adoption fee covers all vetting expenses and sometimes a small donation to cover the dogs food and care, toys medicines and supplies while in foster care.

We send your new dog home with a copy of all vet paperwork, adoption papers, a small bag of the dog food they have been on and information on taking care of the dog. Also a health folder for your vet and notes from our foster mom on their schedule, habits and socialization skills.

We do adopt our rescue dogs to adjourning states and some others within driving distance of the foster family. We DO NOT SHIP OUR DOGS--the adoptive parents must meet the dog at the foster mother’s home. This will give the adoptive family a chance to meet the dog before they adopt it. Our dogs are fostered in NE Ohio and surrounding area in private homes we are not a SHELTER! You must apply and make an appointment to meet with the foster family and at their home location above in the description. Before you apply, please be sure you can come within 2 weeks after your application is approved to adopt your rescue dog.
