Violet is gorgeous blue/tan/white girl who is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 11 pounds. Her beginning in life wasn't the best; she was confiscated from a hoarding/puppy mill situation, adopted out and then returned because her adoptive family decided they didn't want the responsibility of dogs any longer. Despite all of this, she has adjusted to the good life with her foster family wonderfully. Violet seems to be scared of some people (usually men) when she first meets them, and can bark/growl at them (probably the result of her background), but warms up very quickly - usually only after a few minutes. In true rattie fashion, she has bonded very quickly with her fostermom/dad, as well as her foster fur brothers/sisters. Violet was turned in with another dog (a yellow lab mix) and is very bonded to him, so we think her ideal home should be one that has another dog that she can bond with. She seems to gain comfort from the other dogs, which makes sense, given her background. We anticipate some separation anxiety if she were to be adopted to a home with no other dogs, and is left alone during the day. Violet gets along wonderfully with all of the other dogs in her foster home (big and small), and loves to get the other dogs to chase her. When she doesn't want to be chased any longer, she just sits down. She also lives with a cat, and although she's intrigued by her, doesn't bother her. Violet has been an absolute joy for her foster family and will be the same for the lucky family that adopts her. To see more pictures of Violet please
