Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, My name is Belly Bean, altho on paper i am called Bellisimo. I had a confusing past, so i was pretty confused when i came to my foster mom. I like to bark, and i was never sure why i liked to bark, but i had a nice long visit with an Animal communicator and since then, well, everything has been alot easier for me to understand. I don't need to bark nearly as much, and i am learning when i should bark and what its for. I also learned that i like to play with other dogs, but i get overwhelmed when there are too many so i need to be in a home that is not really busy or has too many dogs or children. I really do not like small children...they scare me and make me bark alot. I really want a black dog to call my own, and i play mostly with the black dogs here at foster mom's house. Secretly i really want my own black lab, a nice older one that will let me snuggle with it. I am pretty good with potty habits, and i know how to use a litter box! but i still sometimes have accidents in my crate. I really need a new mom or dad that will understand e, and help me understand life and how it works. I love to snuggle, and have learned that being under a blankie is OK, but i am not sure about sleeping in a bed yet, i still prefer my crate.
Oh.....I reallly really really like the name Belly Bean. I told the animal communicator that i would rather be called that, so i would love if my new home would keep my name Belly Bean.
28 Nov 06 - Introducing Bellisimo
Bellisimo is a 3 year old girl, who is looking for a home, where she can be either the only dog or the dominate dog of 2. She would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time, and she absolutely has to be crated when you are not home.
Bellisimo is a very cuddly girl, who is very happy to curl up on your lap at night, while you watch TV. She is just learning about being under blankies, and is not keen on sleeping in the bed and much prefers her crate, as long as she is in the same room as you and can see you from her crate.
BellyBean is litter box trained, and is very good with a doggie door and litter pads as well.
Bellisimo loves children and is ok with other dogs and cats. She is leash trained. Bellisimo has a rare genetic condition called polydactylism. This means that she has 5 functional toes on each back foot instead of the normal 4, and has an additional non functional toe on each back foot, making a total of 6 toes on each back foot. This does not affect Bellisimo in any negative manner.
Bellisimo has a minor heart murmur and hypoplastic tooth enamel and will require diligent dental care. Regular brushing, good food and regular dentals will be required to help her keep her teeth. Bellisimo will eventually loose most of her teeth because of this condition. Because of this we are considering Bellisimo a special needs placement, in conjunction with her barking.
