Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Harley is a doll, slightly over weight happy fellow. He needs a home with plenty of love, and another dog. Yes, I said another dog! He does better with a friend in the household. He adores our other dogs, even the guests that stay here ( we have a small boarding facility). He loves to swim. Our morning routine is- open gate let him wonder as I sweep the dirt from his room- he loves to make mud, put in fresh food & water. While I am doing these things he goes to the near by stream and has a swim! He has lost weight since arriving here. Adores biscuits. He does tend to stress if 'alone', when our resident Mastiff keeps out of the neighboring room too long he stresses. Ginger snaps help calm him big time. Although he prefers them slightly stale or soft. Great on a leash, but loves a fast pace. Ideal friend for any household. Now his history: He came from a loving home/neighborhood. An outsider loved to jog in this neighborhood for 6 yrs she tormented him- and finally he had enough. He bit her. Everyone says it was her fault- but, I have to be honest and tell you his story. He has some hearing loss due to this woman- I think she may of used an airhorn on him. If you can NOT accept his history or his hearing loss please do not contact us. We have had alot of interest in him but people back out when they hear of his history or it is his hearing loss. Update: 7 June 11 Harley has recoverd some of his hearing! The quiet setting here has done him wonders. He has a waist now! I am so proud of him. He does not like his collar grabbed he will balk, but slip a leash on him he is perfect. His pulling on the lead has stopped. He has slowed down on his barking, usually when he wants a biscuit or to say why can't I join in. Eating less biscuits and more of his food. Turns out he knows some hand signals.
