Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gus has been adopted!
-----------------------------------
Gus is a large (should be ~ 70 lbs.), short-haired boy, likely German Shepherd X Rotti (owner's best guess...maybe some Siberian Husky too?), 8 years old, neutered.
Gus is excellent with cats, ferrets(!), most dogs, children and people he meets. May chase deer (?), and has always had a thing for chasing birds, so cannot live with chickens. He is very friendly and loves attention. Not an excessive barker, but will bark if he is outside and a strange vehicle comes up the driveway. (Okay as a watch dog, but not a good guard dog!)
He is well behaved and always has been good on a leash. He is housetrained and has never had an accident in the house. He has a bed to sleep on, and does not go on the furniture. He loves being brushed, belly rubs and having his chest rubbed. He is great in a car. Their daughter's dog is presently visiting and Gus loves to have the other dog's company. Gus would love a home with another dog, or an owner who lets him hang out with friend's dogs.
Gus has epilepsy which is manageable with medication. His owners are willing to pay for his meds for the rest of his life through their vet.
Gus presently lives just south of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
He was originally adopted as a stray from a kennel in Alberta and came to B.C. with his family. However, Gus's family is moving out of Canada and sadly cannot take him.
There is no adoption fee, but homes will be screened.
Please contact us and we will put you in touch with Gus's owners.
