Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bruce was surrendered to the SHCGNY in April 2011 when the owners admitted they could not contain the dog and could not financially support his costs for heartworm treatment. Bruce is currently in post-treatment for heartworm and is unavailable for adoption for the next few months until he is cleared of heartworm. He is not neutered but neutering him will be a condition upon adoption. He is bi-eyed, very friendly but certainly a houdini that likes to jump fences and run away. He is wonderful with other dogs, adults, children, and is 'curious' about cats. Bruce is in need of a safe and SECURE home as he has bounced around the Long Island area and hardly knows his own name! Bruce also is in need of an owner that understands the independent, energetic breed of the husky and can accept the potential financial costs associated with future treatments. Please reach out with any interest in the NY area only. Home visit and reference check required. He is eating well again (now that we have rescued him, and so he is slowly gaining weight and health). Thanks.
