Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hank is playful, energetic, funny dog who loves just hanging out with his person on the porch or patio watching the world go by, or being brushed and of course that leads to a belly rub. He is very observant and a good watch dog. Hank had a rough start the first few years of his life, so he is very cautious, and fearfull, often timid when meeting new people. Hank seems more comfortable with women than men . . .however, with gentle approach and repeat exposure - once he gets to know you he's your best buddy and is a sweet fellow. Due to his history and fear, he's only comfortable with short walks. He is NOT a dog to take to the dog park...the world is a scary place for him, even the wind spooks him & he has a strong startle reflex He likes just being at home, and running in the yard to chase squirrels and car rides where he can stick his head out the window. He is dominant male, so he does best with the small dogs/pups and adult females who are medium to small. He has encountered a few cats and was wanting to play/chase them, but no aggression. Hank will need someone loving and patient. . . .he does have separation anxiety, so he needs to have a constant companion - person and/or buddy dog. He needs secure gentle, but firm handling. He has been around teens and adults, but not smaller children. An adult only home would be best.
