Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficultwe are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Paige is a darling little mixed breed girl who was found as a stray dog in the north metro and was never claimed. She is about 2-4 years old and weighs 11 pounds. Her breed mix is a big question--perhaps she has some chihuahua, spaniel, pomeranian or other breeds. One thing is for sure though: Paige loves women especially and wants to be your little lap dog. She does get used to an easy going man in the house too, but she requires an adult home or one with quiet teens. She is doing very well in foster care and LOVES to play with the other small dog in her foster home. They spend a lot of time running in the huge yard and she does stay close. It appears that Paige suffered some mistreatment in her past, but it seems she is remembering this less and is turning out to be a charming, friendly and funny dog. Initially she needs to warm up to new people and then she is fine. Paige is a very easy little girl to love. She is dependably house trained, walks well on a leash, eats well, and has great house manners so she doesn't need to be crated. Having a home with another playful small dog and a big yard would be her dream come true! She came with no vetting at all, so her $300 adoption fee is to cover her full vetting including spay, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention, grooming and a HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
