Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Emily is such a special dog with a special story to share. She was a seizure by animal control after many years of mistreatment. She was then placed on the list for euthanasia and SWEETPUPS got her just in time. Emily came to us not able to bark at all as previous owners had severed her vocal cords. She was not well at all and for days we cuddled her in our arms and begged her not to die. She would look up with those soulful eyes and you could just see the gratitude she felt. She touched our heart and our lives with those eyes that just begged to be live - and live she did! Emily is now fully recovered and is full of boundless energy and love. She runs and plays all day with the other dogs, chasing them, playing tug-of-way, digging in the sandbox, just having a great time. Best of all --- she has begun to bark again. Her vocal cords are mending and at this point she sounds a little like the AFLAC duck! It's the sweetest sound in the whole world.
We cannot tell you how special this little girl is and how close she is to our heart. She absolutely MUST go to people she falls in love with that will make certain her heart is never broken again.
Emily weighs 18 pounds, is about 3 years old and is heartworm positive. Because her load is light and she has no symptoms, we have opted to treat her with Heartguard. If you would like to meet this special girl and IF you can give her a fenced yard, a lap to sit in, continued medical care (as needed), and a bed to sleep in (preferable with you), please call.
