Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Addie is a 2 year old brindle female, who is new to rescue. She had a very short racing career that ended with a severely broken hock. She was in rehab for 2 months and is now in foster and doing fine with the cat.
FOSTER UPDATE:
Addie is extremely shy and skittish- to noise and especially someone coming directly towards her. However, she is sweet and you can see she just wants to trust humans in the worst way! When she is ready, she accepts belly rubs, head rubs and all kinds of affection.
She is a silly girl! She has collected all of our loose things and taken them outside into a pile- socks, underwear, dish towels, whatever she can find if you're looking for it, the first place we look is outdoors in "Addie's pile". She loves stuffies and adores our older grey, Gordon and they play tag and chase all morning.
Addie is a special-needs dog. She will be a wonderful addition to a family that has greyhounds and that is "greyhound savvy". She will require some time to work through some of her anxiety issues. In addition, her leg may require long-term care. She is currently taking Rimadyl and Tramadol for pain/swelling. She may have significant long-term issues with her leg for the rest of her life. She will need to be placed with a family that is willing to work with her and provide her with a sense of security and be patient as she becomes more confident and learns to trust humans.
She has an enormous amount of potential and I have no doubt that, in time, she will learn trust and be a wonderful companion to the right adopter.
Addie has an adoption pending.
