Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Birthdate: 12/17/10
Gender: Female, spayed
Breed: Black Lab mix
We fell in love with Short Bread the moment we laid eyes on her. She was found by the side of the road and taken to a local vet’s office, horribly emaciated. The vet called us for help finding her a home, and when we arrived, we were taken back to her kennel. The second she saw us, she scrambled to the front of the kennel, tail wagging a hundred miles an hour, and fell over in her haste to press against the fence for petting. It was love at first sight.
Since then, she has discovered the joys of yummy abundant food, and she has fully enjoyed the experience. Now she has a nice fat little puppy tummy, but that tail still never stops wagging.
She loves to play with other dogs. Big or small, she loves them all. In fact, she can’t understand why everyone else can’t be in the pen with her. Wouldn’t that make it more fun? She also loves to play with kids and cats.
Don’t miss her video! You have to see the dancing puppy feet.
Short Bread hasn’t yet started true potty training, but she is a very smart girl, and we’re expecting her to pick it up quickly. For now, she’s paper trained on newspaper. As with any puppy, adopters should expect accidents at first while she gets the hang of outside pottying. When you adopt, you will receive a book explaining how to housetrain and all of the different methods, including crate training, which we recommend.
Short Bread no longer resembles that incredibly skinny puppy we picked up from the vet’s office not so long ago, but we’re not expecting her to be a huge dog. We’re estimating she’ll be around 50 pounds as an adult.
Interested in adopting Short Bread? You can meet her at the shelter any time during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday, 5 to 8pm. You can also call 330–397–8270 to schedule a private appointment. She has already been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so she is ready to go home with a new family right away.
