Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi my name is Layla.
Not to long ago the people who I called my family kept me outside on a rope with no access to water, food or shelter from the rain and the hot Florida sun. Then one day they let me off the rope, I was excited because I thought they were going to let me inside where I really wanted to be, but instead they through me outside on the street.
Thats when a really nice lady picked me up in her car and took me home with her. I went to the doctor and was all checked out. They say I am a very healthy girl even though I was negelected. I am a little shy at first since I never got any attention, but I am now more confident. I like other doggies and kids too!
I would love a home and family to call my own. Wont you come and meet me??

Below is Layla's story from the good samaritan who found her. Layla has been spayed, vaccinated and de-wormed. She is currently in foster care waiting for her forever home. If you would like to meet Layla please contact us. An adoption application and home visit is required.
Layla was found a couple weeks ago when I almost hit her with my car. We pulled over and because of her friendly demeanor were able to safely secure her and put her in the car. We drove around the neighborhood hoping someone would recognize her. Unfortunately people recognized her as the poor dog who was tied on a short leash in her owner's yard without food, water,or shelter.(even during very cold nights) We hesitantly brought her to her owners to see if she was indeed that dog. Her owners told us they didn't want her anymore and had let her go on purpose. Despite neglect and suspected physical abuse, Layla is a sweet and gentle dog. She is great with children and other dogs. She deserves a second chance and a loving home. We had her spayed and vaccinated so she is ready for her new family.
