Update 10/26/2011 - Winston is doing well. He enjoys short walks in the evenings. Winston keeps us company wherever we go in the house. He is a good loyal companion. During nap time Winston and Chauncey like to curl up in their favorite doggy bed together. That's one reason why these boys need to go to the same forever home. They depend on each other and have been together for a long time and we just can't separate them. They like to lick each others face too! It seems to be more of a comfort than a cleaning thing. I am available through email if you have any questions about these boys. Please fill out an application if you have considered the care it takes for two dogs and please only adult homes or homes with older children.
UPDATE 7/31/11: Winston is doing great! He isn't a big fan of the heat, but he enjoys spending some time relaxing outside in the morning before it gets too hot. Winston had a doggy door installed at his foster home and he learned how to use it quickly. He goes outside to potty and comes back inside to spend the day with us. Winston is still getting used to being in a kennel when we aren't home. He will sometimes bark when we leave, but he settles down after a bit. He is always happy to see us when we return. Please only fill out an application if you are interested in Winston and his brother Chauncey as they need to be adopted together. Thank you. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about Winston!
Update 5/30/2011: Winston had his annual vaccinations this month. He did great at the vet. They said he is healthy and such a sweet guy. He also got a summer haircut and he is looking good! Winston didn't mind taking a bath and getting a trim. He was patient and enjoyed the attention. Please fill out an application for Winston and Chauncey today!
Update 4/13/2011- Winston is a lovey boy. He loves to be in your lap, on your chair beside you, and if he wants you to pet him, he will paw your hand. He likes to go with you on car rides and walks. Winston is good about not barking at just anything, but he will let you know if someone is coming in the door unannounced. Winston is friendly when company comes over and likes the attention he gets from them. Occasionally, Winston will engage in playing with the younger dogs in the house, but most of the time his focus is on people and being with them. Please fill out an application for Winston and Chauncey if you think you are the forever home for them!
Update 3/16/2011: Winston had his dental done yesterday. It went very well. He only lost 4 teeth and the rest look great! He is up to date on his shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention, and ready for his forever home. Winston is such a sweetheart. He follows his foster mom around the house when she is doing housework and sits in her lap when she is resting. He also likes to hang out with her while she does yard work outside. Basically, Winston is going to be a great companion. He is usually calm and slow to bark. He is learning how to be in a crate while his foster mom is away. At first he makes some noise but soon quiets down. Winston has been very good when it comes to going potty outside. He has only tried to raise a leg once in the house, but was redirected outside and hasnt had any problems since. Taking regular time to go outside with Winston has showed success in teaching him where to potty. Winston and Chauncey need to go to the same forever home because they have been together for many years. If you think you would be a match for Winston and Chauncey, please fill out an application.
Update 3/1/2011: Winston and his brother went to the vet today. The vet said he is at a healthy weight of 11.7lbs. Winston will have to have a dental done and have some teeth removed. The vet said they wont know for sure how many teeth they will have to pull until they get in there and see. The estimate for his dental is $235. Winston appreciates any donation amount towards his dental. We are getting to know each other more and more. Right now Winston is on the arm rest of my recliner taking a nap. He loves to be with you and know what you are doing. He is very sweet. He has a low to medium level of energy. One of Winston's best traits is his passionate eyes. It is best if Winston and Chauncey go to the same home.
