This is a CROSS POST for another rescue --

Teddy is an adorable 13 pound Pomeranian who was rescued from a neglectful situation in Georgia and is now in a foster home in Alexandria, VA. You’d never know that he had been neglected; he is extremely affectionate and happy. He is 6 years old, neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. We believe Teddy would be happiest in a home where he is not left alone all day, he had too much of that in his former life and he thrives on attention. In fact, he is quite an attention hog and loves to be held or on your lap. Teddy has been happy sleeping in bed with his foster parents and wakes them up every morning with lots of kisses! Unfortunately, Teddy received no behavioral instruction prior to coming into a foster home, so he has no idea that he’s not allowed to climb on furniture or jump up on people, but being such a little guy, this hasn’t caused any problems in his foster home. He was very easy to housebreak and he is extremely intelligent, so he will be quick to learn new commands, but he would probably do best in a home where his family has some dog training experience and no children under 12. Teddy’s first time ever on a leash was two days ago and he’s already walking around the neighborhood like a pro. Teddy should go to a home with a securely fenced yard, so he can have lots of play time with you outside and he’ll be safe.
