Gonzo & Juliette: Valentines Forever
They may look like an odd couple but these two Valentine’s Day sweeties are the best of friends.
Rescued together on a frigid winter day, Gonzo (right) and Juliette comforted each other with soft kisses on the face (Juliette especially likes to clean Gonzo’s huge ears!)
It was clear that the two came from the same home and were life-long buddies. Also clear was that these were two of the sweetest dogs anyone had ever met!
When we located their home, we all expected a happy reunion. But the dogs’ “family” had a warrant for their arrest and, fearful of contact with the police, refused to come pick them up from the police station, choosing instead to abandon the sweet pups.
In their foster home, the two buddies soak up all the affection they can get. Whenever Gonzo hops into his foster mom’s lap for a tummy rub, Juliette snuggles in as close as she can. “These two are so incredibly loving,” says their foster mom. “I can’t believe anyone could just walk away from them.” Sure enough, Humane Society volunteers can’t remember two sweeter dogs; everyone who meets them falls madly in love!
While they can be adopted apart, we’re hoping someone will give these two best buddies a home together, where no one will ever betray them again!
About our two BFFs:
• 1-2 year-old hound mix (Juliette, 46 pounds) and 1-2 year old Jack Russell mix (Gonzo, 13 pounds). Both have all shots; scheduled for spaying/neutering
• Almost completely house-trained (just need some reinforcement)
• Both are playful & extraordinarily affectionate! Gonzo is extraordinarily calm for a Jack Russell mix! Both love other dogs and would be great with kids (cats, not so much!).
