My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abby! Abby came into the Chain of Hope group off the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. She was a feral dog, which means she was afraid of humans – not aggressive - just scared, living on the streets. Abby is a very small Lab mix! She has a beautiful, silky black coat. Abby is about 1 year old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. She loves the other dogs in her current foster home and enjoys playing with them in the snow. She also does well with cats. Abby is spayed, current on her vaccinations and heartworm preventative, crate trained, and is doing very well with her house training. Abby will do best in a home with adults and she very much prefers women. She is not aggressive at all with children or men, but the fervent nature of children tends to scare her and she is very shy with men. Abby is very shy and will need a home with human parents who can be very patient with her while she is learning to trust you. Abby spent the first four weeks in her foster home hiding under the bed and trying to understand that humans can be nice. She is now comfortable in her foster home and is very eager to greet her foster mom when she returns from work or errands. To see Abby evolve, learn to love and smile….yes she smiles…has brought much joy to her current foster family!
