WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Meet Camille, our first rescue of 2011. Camille was a guest of a local animal shelter, picked up as a stray. Camille was very very fearful while in the shelter and when I found her, was shaking in the corner of her run. It took several minutes of coaxing for her even to lift her head and finally to approach me. What I saw was terribly sad. She had very infected cherry eyes, what was left of her vision was covered with a thick green mucous, virtually making her blind. To compound matters, she was also in heat!
Camille is now safe, warm and no longer scared. Presently at our vet for treatment of very severe eye infections. When the infection has cleared, she will undergo cherry eye repair and spay. Vision in her right eye appears to be fine, but the left eye is questionable.
Camille gets along with other dogs and cats. She loves her humans, too.
