Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 02/12/2012: Hey all! Lacey here - just checking in with all my admirers out there. Now I know there has to be that "someone special" out there who would appreciate a wonderful dog like me. First of all, my potty training has been very successful - I go outside all the time except if my foster Mom is gone more than 4hrs. Then I will always use the pee-pee pads – aren’t I smart? FM didn’t think it was possible, but she says that I am getting even more lovable. She calls me her lil’ cuddle bug (and I love it when she does that!).
I am very easy-going and no bother at all. FM never calls me a ‘pest’ like she calls my younger fur-sister (well, she is still too young to know better, I guess). Us older gals have much nicer manners. I wait patiently for my snacks and dinner and have a wonderful appetite. For some reason, folks think that when you don’t have any teeth, you have trouble eating, (that’s why my tongue peeps out of my mouth cuz there are no teeth to hold it in), but that is sooooo not the case! I am still very active and love to run outside. I really like when FM chases me around the backyard, so don’t let my ‘young’ age of 8 ½ fool you. I am a great watch dog with the deepest bark for a small little girlie, and am still the first dog to hear a noise.
My FM takes me with her to her friends and families’ houses. They say that I am always welcome since I am so well-behaved. FM likes to take me since I am also great in the car. I get along well with my fur siblings, but I would really LOVE a forever home of my very own. You would never ever regret it for I would be your’s to please with so much Love, Hugs, and Kisses---Lacey
UPDATED BIO 12/16/2011: Happy Holidays, Everyone! I have the best gift for you.......ME! I hate to brag, but my foster Mom says I am the perfect dog. I’m old enough to know better, but young enough to have a good time. I am happy here at my FM's house, but I still hope that someday I could be in my very own home with NOT so many fur-siblings. Right now there are 5 other doggies here in FM’s house. Don't get me wrong, I get along fine with them. It's just whenever my FM hugs and kisses me, the other dogs try to cut in on my action.
I've been spending a lot of time outside, sunning myself and going on adventures. They don't call me Queen of Lizard Patrol for nothing. I don't hurt them, just chase them. My FM doesn't think I know she's watching me, but sometimes I catch her looking at me. She thinks everything I do is sooooo adorable!
I am the first dog in the house to hear a strange noise or respond to a knock or the doorbell. I have a great bark which is low and NOT annoying. I am very well-behaved, I ride well in the car and I love affection. Those younger dogs have nothing on me. Could I be your "Special Princess?" I promise that you will never regret it. Us older dogs need love and a forever home, too! XOXOXOXO Lacey
UPDATED BIO 10/12/2011: Lacey is a cutie-patootie! She is an 8.5 year old 5 lb munchkin who is being fostered in Miramar, FL. She is a doll. Yes, Lacey is an older pup but remember yorkies live well until their mid-late teens. She is very adaptable and would do well in a home where she can be taken out regularly. (a home may be better than an apt). Please consider giving this girlie a FURever home where she can be loved (and love you) the rest of her days :)
Here’s what Lacey had to say about herself recently:
Hi all! Well, I’m still here at my Foster Mom’s home. I like it here – a lot – but I’m really looking forward to having my very own Forever home. FM told me that I had to write about my summer activities – she said she had to do the same thing every year when she went back to school. So here goes…….my summer has been filled with my favorite past times, like……..chasing lizards, playing with my furbrothers and fursisters, and relaxing in the sun…..did I mention chasing lizards? FM also thought I should tell you that I’m a very good watch dog – she says I have the bestest bark in the house. It’s a deep bark, not like my fursister’s annoying high-pitched bark – argh! When I bark at things, FM says ‘thank you for chasing away the bad people’, and I can stop barking at the door and run back into my bed. FM takes me to be groomed and it feels soooooo good – I get my hair washed and trimmed – my stylist reports that I am a very good client. The best part about going to the stylist is that when I’m done, I get to relax in a dark, cool room with a TV! Yup! A TV – tuned to my favorite channels. I’m so lucky that UYR took me in and cared for me, I’m having a great life…….but I still dream about having my own forever home. I’m really easy to care for, and I’ll love you forever and ever, yes I will! Please consider adopting me! Note from Foster Mom: Lacey is waiting for the perfect ending to her fairytale and her "happily ever after". Could you be the person to grant her wish?
UPDATED BIO 5/15/11: Lacy is an adorable 8.5 year 5lb little gal with a lot of sugar and spice. She likes to relax with her foster Mom, but then there are times when she starts "whooping" it up and runs around the house. She's a hoot! She loves to follow her fur siblings outside and go on Lizard patrol. She is a true joy to have around. Don't let her age fool you--she still very fiesty and has a LOT of life left in her! (Remember, yorkies live WELL into their late teens and her bloodwork was all perfect. :)
UPDATED BIO 1/30/2011: Lacey is an adorable 5 lb little girl who is being fostered in Miramar, FL. Though she was previously examined by another vet, our UYR rescue vet thinks that Lacey (while healthy and sweet) is closer to 8-9 than 6 years old. Lacey says age is just a number..... and all of us at UYR agree!
Other than her checkup, which showed nothing serious, Lacey is still an easygoing, mellow little girl. She isn't phased by cats. She doesn't mind the other dogs. She just blends in beautifully. She is a sweetheart and loves belly rubs (as you can see by the picture). She is going to grow back her lustrous head of hair, and she will once again be the Belle of the ball! Wouldn't you like to have a furry Valentine this year?
INITIAL BIO 1/24/2011: Lacey is a sweet 6 year old 5 lb little girl who is being fostered in Miramar, FL.
Foster mom has had sweet Lacey for less than 24 hours, and she is already in love. She said Lacey is one of the most well-behaved dogs she has ever met. She said, "Lacey is an absolute PLEASURE!" She melds in so well with the doggie clan. She likes everyone. She's housetrained. She's friendly. Oh yeah, she's ADORABLE! She's a cute little princess who had to have her hair cut short because of the severe matting she had when she was rescued.
Lacey is waiting for the perfect ending to her fairytale and her "happily ever after". Could it be you?
