My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Della is a tiny cat who came to us with a severe flea allergy (easily controlled) that left her bald from her tummy to her tail. Without the plush appearance that a fur coat can give, she looked like a funny little pink insect! (Her fur has grown in again and she's a lovely-looking tabby now.) She had been found homeless and came to us from another shelter because she too shy there to adopt out. We could give her the time she needed to find her confidence again. Happily, it didn't take too long. She had only been a Katie's Place cat for five days when a volunteer came to photograph her for the web. Della was a bit shy about coming out of her little house but she reached her head out the door as far as she could and she reveled in the volunteer's attention blissfully. Within a few more days, she was out of her little nest and showing us what an exceptionally affectionate girl she is. When she joined a communal room, she liked to curl up under a blankie (as you can see in one of her photos). If we rush into her communal room at a brisk pace, she might startle. But if you slow down a bit and approach her gently, that's all the reassurance she needs. Next thing you know, she'll be following you around adoringly, hoping for more pets. She likes hugs too. She's a dainty little cat who is full of affection to offer someone kind and caring. Her flea allergy is easily managed and her tabby coat should always be lovely from now on. She's as lovely outside again as she is inside. Della is an endearing little soul.

Della would have been born in early 2010.
