Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS DOG IS A RESCUE FROM THE BRIGHTON DOG HOARDING SITUATION IN CLIFTON, NJ. ALL THE BRIGHTON ROAD DOGS NEEDS A LITTLE MORE TLC THAN YOUR AVERAGE RESCUE AND VIRTUALLY NONE WILL BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH SMALL/YOUNG CHILDREN. EXPERIENCE WITH (SMALL) DOGS PREFERRED . WE KINDLY ASK YOU TO RESPECT THE ORDEAL THE DOGS HAVE BEEN THROUGH - NONE OF THEM WILL BE AT OUR ADOPTION EVENTS UNTIL THEY HAVE SETTLED IN TO THEIR FOSTER HOMES. IF INTERSTED PLEASE FILL OUT AN ONLINE APPLICATION AND WE WILL SCHEDULE A MEET AND GREET PRIVATELY. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE BRIGHTON DOG HOARDING SITUATION PLEASE GO TO www.cliftonanimalshelter.com THANK YOU ALL FOR THE ENORMOUS COMPASSION YOU HAVE SHOWN THESE LITTLE CHAMPIONS AND NOW PLEASE ENJOY REVIEWING THEIR LISTINGS.
Taylor came to Rawhide under very stressful circumstances, as one of the dogs seized from a Clifton hoarder. What little fur Taylor still has left on him after a terrible bout with flea-bite dermatitis looks like bristles on a little pig. Poor Taylor- underneath his bristles he is actually a steely blue color, which is why his foster mom affectionately calls him "Blue-boy"- he is a little masterpiece just waiting to fully blossom. Blue-boy was miserable his first night in his new foster home, and who wouldn't be after the ordeal he has had to endure for so many years? But he is an exceptionally smart little fellow, and he soon realized that the other dogs in the household were getting lot's of love and kisses while he was hiding his in his crate. Next thing you know, he was out of his crate and playing with his new mom, running around the house, playing with toys, and enjoying good food, fresh air, and a yard to play in. What a transformation! This little boy went from a cage-aggressive fear-biter to the most loving little mush overnight. He must be a genius!
Taylor will likely be a typical Chihuahua loyal to one or maybe two humans, so please, no children. All Taylor wants are for someone to hold and cuddle him and reassure him that he will never ever be kept in a cage 24/7.
Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to our adoption events.
