My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey is a black and tan Shiba Inu and is about 2 years old. She is a very shy girl, because she was raised in a puppy mill without much human interaction. Honey was given up to MSIR because she was not producing puppies. MSIR discovered that this poor girl didn’t stand up straight or walk properly due to bilateral luxating patellas on both back legs. Honey has had surgery on both legs to correct the issue and has recovered wonderfully.

While shy, Honey is very sweet Shiba, and she seems to like being petted while in a calm environment. She has had to learn how to play; but after a couple months she enjoys chasing the other dogs around. She also loves to steal toys and rawhides and hide them in her bed. She is nervous on walks but really likes getting out and about. With the right home, we are very optimistic that she will open up and be a great companion.

Honey was diagnosed with a mild heart murmur. At this time, she does not need to be on any medication but she should have routine checkups to monitor her condition.

The adoption fee for Honey is $300.
