Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
location: Corvallis, OR
Puku (pronounced ‘puh-coo’, which means ‘hungry belly’ in Maori) is a healthy, happy 3 year old Rat Terrier, weighing 21 pounds. He tends to be very food motivated – great for his training and for cleaning up the food scraps dropped on the floor by the 1 year old baby in his home, but not great for his weight - which will easily stay in range with regular exercise. Puku loves being active – running, playing, dog-wrestling, etc. He knows a good range of commands, but would love to learn more tricks. Puku loves other dogs, and does great with dogs he knows (he lives with a lab/mix currently), but he should work on his socialization skills with meeting new dogs. He has been "reactive" in the past concerning what he thought was an invasion by another male dog in his home, so he should always be supervised closely with visiting canines he isn't familiar with. Puku lives with 2 cats - he is interested in them but he behaves appropriately. He’s even been exposed to bunny rabbits and did not seem interested in harming them, just eating their food! Puku is amazing with the 1 year old he lives with - very patient, permissive and tolerant of her attention. He is a very affectionate dog who loves to be mentally challenged and then get rewarded by cuddling with his favorite people. If he wants more attention, he asks with a cute ‘aa-ooo’ sound, but also knows how to ‘hush’. He is a very sweet dog who can’t wait for his new forever home.
Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he has been fortunate enough to remain in his current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.
