Update 1/11/11: Give a warm welcome to Gretchen.
Gretchen is a 2-3 year old, 50 lb female. She looks like a Cattle Dog mix.
Gretchen was recently saved from a local pound, so we are still getting to know her. She is staying in a foster home until she is adopted. Her foster mom had the following to say about her:
"Gretchen is a bundle of love and playfulness! She wants to be with people or dog friends all the time and is very eager to please. She also walks amazingly well and is completely housebroken. She is a really great dog!"
Interested in meeting and possibly adopting Gretchen? Fill-out an online adoption application via
www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $300 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption.
While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all animals are fully vaccinated, heart worm tested and spayed or neutered. Other medical treatments may be provided to our animals, depending upon their specific needs.
Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we
do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
We try to make our adoption process as easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit
www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the process in detail.
If you are not in a position to adopt a pet that tugs at your heart strings, consider sponsoring its care. Click
