Zack is a big mush. He's a little heavy right now and is on a diet to lose some weight. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner because their other animals didn't like him. His foster home has a less than 15 lb puppy, a kitty, a 60 lb dog and a 140 lb dog, so nothing phases him. He is a typical golden in that he's very affectionate and friendly. He knows sit and down and is working on other commands. Especially because he's such a big boy, his adoption fee is on the higher end to cover his travel expenses. His adoption fee of $600 includes his neuter surgery, full vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and 30 days of pet insurance. All of our dogs are rescued from the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter, which is a high volume, high kill facility. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. They are then placed on the website. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested in it, we make arrangements with the waiting foster to pick the animal up from the airport to then meet with the potential adopter.
