My story

Mercedes came to us as a kitten someone found up in the engine of their car. They were driving a Mercedes SUV, hence the name. She was so covered with dirt and grime that we didn't know what color she was, but what we could see is her beautiful blue eyes. After a really good bath, it was discovered that she is white all over. Mercedes is just over a year old now and quite the sweetheart. We've nick-named her "Smoochie-Smooze" because she loves to give kisses. She absolutely loves other cats but has had no exposure to dogs. I don't think she would do well in a home with pre-teen children because she is shy at first until she gets to know you and then she's all lovable. (I know some young kids will chase after their pets and Mercedes would not like that.) Mercedes is a chatty cat who enjoys being brushed and with her beautiful long coat you will want to do this about once a week. Some blue-eyed white cats are deaf, but Mercedes is NOT.

Mercedes is spayed, has tested negative for Heartworm, Feline Leukemia and FIV, Vet. checked, fully vaccinated, dewormed and flea free. Her adoption fee is $125 which helps defray these expenses and also goes toward supporting the other cats in our rescue.

A Home for Cats is proud to be a no-kill rescue. Once a cat comes into our care, it stays with us until adopted, no matter how long that takes. Of course, when you adopt one of our cats, it makes it possible for us to rescue another one.

Our cats are fed only Hill's Science Diet brand cat foods, thanks to Hill's Shelter Nutrition Partnership program.
