My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Axel is a sweet, loving little poodle mix in gorgeous shades of silver and gray with a docked tail. Poodle mixed with what... we don't know. He has super-soft, curly, non-shedding hair but, unlike a poodle, the hair on his ears is straight (more like a bichon or maltese).

Axel's hair was very matted when he came into the shelter (as you can see in his "before" photo) so we had no choice but to shave most of it, but his hair is really beautiful and once it grows out he will be absolutely stunning!

Axel is about 12-18 months old and weighs 7 lbs. He's underweight right now; we'd like to see him at about 10 lbs. He's healthy and eating well so I'm sure he'll fill out in no time.

Axel is such a sweet and gentle spirit. He loves people but he's a little timid at first and will cower if you reach for him too quickly. He gets along great with the other dogs, and he's curious about the cats but pretty much leaves them alone.

Axel loves to go for walks, and he rides well in the car. He is quiet and well-behaved. As long as he can be near you, he's happy. He is very responsive and eager to please. All he wants is someone who will love him and let him know that he is safe.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, current on vaccinations, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, ID tag, and puppy kisses from the lucky dog you take home!
