Mickey and Duke are not brothers, but met and bonded in their foster home and very much enjoy each other's company. Mickey was born in June of 2010, while Duke came into the world two months later in August.
Although Mickey looks part-Siamese (and what a looker he is!), that's where the Siamese characteristics stop. This boy is quite the (amusing) klutz, always tripping off his perch or falling off the bed. This boy is also not much of a talker, although he's got a sweet little meow when he does want to say something. Mickey tends to be a little shy with new people or noises, but when he's feeling comfortable and secure, he is happy to curl up in a warm, cozy lap after wearing himself out playing with the lazer light or his favorite wand toy. Although he loves to play and chase and jump, Mickey is very affectionate and well on his way to being a wonderful lap cat.
Duke is also very affectionate and playful, which makes this pair just about the perfect, adorable duo. One of Duke's favorite places is the bathtub, where he loves to bring small mice and balls. Once Duke has the right toy corraled with him in the bathtub, he loves to chase and pounce on it, skittering around inside the tub. Duke is much more of a talker than Mickey, and has a rusty-sounding, old man meow that lets you know when he's ready for food or to be picked up and loved. Although not as shy as Mickey, Duke is also tentative around new people or activities. Once he's decided he is comfortable, however, he's happy to sit on a shoulder and be carried around the house from his tall perch.
Both Mickey and Duke are extremely well-behaved and good-natured; even nail-clipping is a cinch! They both love belly rubs, nose kisses, playing, napping, and cozy laps to sit in. They have also been known to sleep on the bed from time to time with their foster mom.
Mickey and Duke, like all ARCF cats for adoption, have been neutered, microchipped, are up to date on vaccines, and have tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
