Update 3/19/11: Lucy's looking for a home!
Say 'hello' to our good friend Lucy. Lucy is a 4 yr old, 12 lbs. Poodle/Schnauzer-mix with an awesome personality!
Lucy gets along with dogs (however it can take a little while during the introduction phase because she is insecure when she first meets a new dog). She gets along great with the dogs in her foster home. Lucy is fine with cats also. She does like to give them a chase now and then, but it is all in good fun!
Lucy is very well behaved. She knows some basic commands and is housetrained. She loves people, bellyrubs and walks around town. If you aren't home during the day because you work, it is important that you have at least one other dog in the house for Lucy to hang out with - otherwise she will show signs of separation anxiety. She just wants to have a buddy with her, so she isn't alone.
Interested in meeting and possibly adopting this dog? Fill-out an online adoption application via
www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $300 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption.
While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all animals are fully vaccinated, heart worm tested and spayed or neutered. Other medical treatments may be provided to our animals, depending upon their specific needs.
Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we
do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
We try to make our adoption process as
easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit
www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.
