Here's what the humans have to say about me:
OAKLEY IS BEING FOSTERED IN SC.
Oakley is a six-year-old powderpuff Chinese Crested, who loves to snuggle in your lap and be right by your side. Oakley was one of many dogs taken from a hoarding situation in October, 2010. When he first came into foster care last fall, he weighed only 7.3 pounds and was severely malnourished. Thanks to lots of loving care, he has steadily improved and is up to a healthy weight of 11 pounds. Now that he's strong enough for surgery, he's been neutered and had a thorough dental cleaning, and he's available for adoption!
With just a little time to adjust to his new surroundings, Oakley is a happy, easy going dog. He gets along well with other dogs as long as they don't come on too strong! He's pretty submissive and loses confidence around bullies. But with his dog friends... he loves to play and chase and run and wrestle and truly, this little guy gets the zoomies at least once a day!
Although he was shy when he first arrived in foster care, his confidence has improved along with his health, and it's wonderful to see him so happy. He has a playful streak, wakes up with a wagging tail every morning, and loves to be outside. He absolutely loves to go on walks and is a natural on a leash. He loves to trot along on the curb, so he can survey his domain. Oakley is crate trained and seems to be house trained as well... he's doing very well! We've decided he looks his best in a pony cut, very cute.
This little boy will thrive in a household that's willing to give him love and structure to keep his confidence up as he has new experiences out in the real world. He is so SO sweet and snuggly and loving and he will just steal your heart. He is one of those rescue dogs that is so grateful for the care he receives and couldn't be any more wonderful.
Our adoption procedure is as follows:
* Submit the application to the foster person
* Application will be reviewed, personal and vet references will be checked
* A phone call to the potential adopting home may be made and/or emails sent with further questions.
* Home visit scheduled and completed
***Bald Is Beautiful will ship a dog if necessary. It is the responsibility of the new adopter to pay for shipping costs. Our helpful volunteers and foster homes will assist in making those arrangements, however payment for shipping is the responsibility of the new adopter as well as the cost of the airline approved shipping crate.
Bald Is Beautiful does not adopt out to homes with unaltered pets, homes with invisible fencing or children under 5 years old. All other children will be considered on a case by case basis. If you are intersted in this furbaby, email the foster coordinator at savingdoggies@yahoo.com or wickedsistersk9bakery@yahoo.com for an application.
Bald Is Beautiful is a group of foster homes across the country with no specific shelter. We do not have a specific shelter for folks to visit.

Are you aware that dogs do best when they aren't alone? Dogs are pack animals and really do best with another dog around while their pack leaders are at work or out of the home. We strongly suggest that folks have another dog for the new rescue to be a companion with. Senior or adult dogs make GREAT 2nd dogs. No chewing, usually potty trained and there is always an abundance of them. Have you considered adopting a senior? It's very rewarding and most senior small dogs live to be 13+ years old!

Please note: We adopt young dogs to senior citizens on a case by case basis.
