Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Born approximately January 2010.
Look into the expressive golden eyes of this gentle young lady. Cheyennes expressive eyes seem to say, love me, please, give me hugs and kisses and I will return your love ten-fold. You can almost see the pain,, the loneliness, and the pleading in her eyes for someone to care about her, to trust her, play with her, to protect her and keep her safe, to keep her healthy, and to treat her as a member of the family.
Cheyenne is approximately 8-10 months old and has survived for a number of months without the kind of care a puppy should have. She and her sister, Annie, were found in Denton County as strays. They were very thin but worse than that, they were terrified of every person and every thing around them. It would take a miracle to learn where they came from and what their history could tell us. Without knowing what their first 8 months of puppyhood were like, we can only speculate.
Cheyenne is fearful of people and things she doesnt know, even though she craves lots of attention and affection. She will follow you around the house and when you settle down or get in bed, she is right there to join you. In her foster home she never, never displayed any kind of fearful aggression. Even if she is shaking out of fear or trying to run away, she will not try to bite you at all. All this baby needs is a calm, loving family. A family who will take the time to socialize her and train her. She is house trained and goes to the door to let you know she needs to go out. She is an active breed and needs adequate exercise. She is excellent with other dogs and is submissive. We dont know if she has ever been around cats but we can test her with some of our dog friendly cats. Cheyenne enjoys running around the yard with other dogs and she likes stuffed animals to play with and to engage in a game of tug-a-war.
Because she is afraid of loud noises, sudden movements, etc. we recommend that her adoptive family be gentle and patient with her and no children under 12 years of age and who have been around other dogs.
Cheyenne is a wonderful girl who desperately wants a forever loving home. She will be your faithful, loyal best friend who will love you unconditionally.
