Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Laylee (now named "Lucy" by foster caregiver) is a perfectly delightful, 5-year-old, Shepherd/Lab mix dog who came into the city shelter as a "stray." Laylee obviously came from a family with children, as she loves kids, men, women, other dogs and seems OK around cats. Easy to walk, housebroken and trained, Laylee is an excellent dog for a city apartment or a suburban home. She could, in fact go into almost any situation. When we rescued her from the shelter, Laylee was about to be destroyed for "space." Please show Laylee that people are better than that. She is a totally lovely dog and would make a fabulous addition to any loving home. If interested in lovely Laylee, please call us at (212) 427-8273. Laylee is a total SWEETIE! For more on Laylee/Lucy, please read following bio provided by her foster person:

play. She's well-mannered, completely housebroken, and she never, ever
pulls hard on her leash, no matter how exciting a smell is. If you sit
down, she comes over to say howdy, then lies quietly next to you. Plus,
every time you come up to her she smiles and bobs her head! What could be
cuter than that?
The day we rescued her from the shelter, she hopped in a cab for a 70
block ride and sat in the car like a perfect little lady, looking out the
window. She's settled nicely into a very busy neighborhood, and a
high-rise apartment, with no problems whatsoever. We left her at home for
a few hours only about an hour after we got her. We came back to.....her!
No chewed up shoes, no messes, just a dog who was very happy to see us.
She's medium-sized, a little overweight, but she's on a doggie diet and
exercise program to get her into tip-top shape. She comes up to about an
inch below the bottom of my knee.
Lucy is really a perfect dog for any family or individual. She's gentle,
clean, trustworthy, etc. - just like a little doggie Girl Scout. A Grrrrl
Scout!
