My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Butchie. He is estimated to be no more than 2 yrs old, possibly younger. He was found as a stray in another state. We rescued him from a high kill shelter. He had very little back hair and really flaky skin when we got him. The fur he did have was so matted he had to be shaved down. His hair is coming back in very nicely and the flaking has subsided. He tested "Minimally positive" for heart worms but will require NO heart worm treatment. He will need to be on heart worm prevention for 6 months and then be tested again and our vet says he will test negative. He has already been started on preventative. He is neutered, up to date on shots. He is very sweet and loving. He loves attention and to be held and petted. He is doing well on his leash, house and crate training. He will need someone who will be patient with him til he learns what is expected of him as in inside doggie. He seems very smart and learns quickly. All he wants is to be loved. He loves other dogs and to play. He does not mind the cats at all. He would be good with kids as he is very gentle. It might be best if he is with a family with children over 5 as he does like to jump up to get petted. He is ready for his forever home.
