Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*We will only adopt within a 60 mile radius of Chicago, IL*
AJ is a beautiful reddish/fawn boy with gorgeous green eyes! AJ is about 1 year old but small for his age as he had very poor nutrition and was quite malnourished.
He is one of the South Holland dogs.
He is a bundle of energy and would require training when he gets in his new home.
Update: Dec 3rd, 2008-
AJ had surgery to repair his ruptured Cruciate. It was a very difficult surgery as the damage was extensive. He came home two days later and is resting comfortable on a dog bed in the living room. He hates the cone on his head but it is a necessary evil for now.
Update: Dec 9th, 2008-
AJ is getting around really well. The first few days were tough but is slowly getting better. I know he will be so glad to get the cone off his head! He goes back to the vet on the 15th for a wound check and they will probably remove the sutures then too.
Update: Dec 15th, 2008-
AJ went back to the vet today to get a his leg checked. He is looking good, sutures came out but he still has the cone head so he isn't happy about that but overall, I am happy that he is in the mend. We have to be so careful going outside though with the ice and snow. A bad slip could throw everything right out of wack again so I got a big container of the Ice Melt for Pets to make sure everything is ice-free for AJ! He has to return to the vet in another two weeks.
Update: Dec 29th, 2008-
AJ had another doctor visit today. He is 4 weeks post-op now. The doctor said he is doing excellent and if he stays on this course, he can go back to normal activities in 2 weeks! He will go back for another check up in 2 weeks and if all is well, slowly he can resume his normal craziness. :)
AJ is great with other dogs but will only be adopted into a home with a female dog or no other dogs.
AJ lovess to run and play and adores my 10 year old son. He loves chew toys and squeeky toys.
*Obedience training is mandatory for all dogs adopted from our rescue. The choice of trainer is up to the adopter, unless otherwise noted in the bio. We do require an obedience deposit check in the amount of $200.00 at the time of adoption.
This is a refundable deposit. The check is stapled to the adoption contract and held in a file until we receive proof of completion for your training program.
The check will not be cashed if you complete training and provide us with proof, at which time the check is mailed back to you. The check will only be cashed if you do not complete training! *
The adoption fee for AJ is $200.00, which includes his neuter, shots, microchipping, etc in addition to any other medical while in our care.
If you have any questions, are interested in meeting AJ, or are considering adoption, please send us an email: Cause4Paws@gmail.com
