My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 1 years

Weight: 4.5 lbs

We have one adoption application under review for Django.
My name is Django, and my life before rescue was tough.  I am shy initially and it takes me awhile to warm up to people.  Even though I have warmed up tremendously to my foster parents, if they approach to pick me up, I will cower in a fearful stance, usually rolling over to show my belly.  Whatever happened to me in my past still has an effect on me today.  I am more trusting of women than men initially but I love my foster dad and enjoy sitting by him on the couch.  My foster mom calls me a little ninja because I will appear very quietly on the couch beside her without her noticing I jumped up.  She will turn to look to her side, and there I am quietly waiting for her to give me attention.  I've given her a couple of kisses, but I really just prefer to be petted and loved on while I sit in her lap.

I am a small guy, weighing in under 5 lbs.  I have a tendency to get under foot, and being the tiny little guy that I am - I really need to be in a quiet home without a lot of activity.  My foster mom is very used to little Chihuahuas, and she treads more carefully because I am constantly at her feet.  Due to my timid nature, I will not be adopted to a home with children for their safety and mine.  I've gotten used go sharing a warm lap when I have it, but I wouldn't mind being an only dog.  When I am not in  a person's lap, I co-exist quite nicely with the other doggies.  I've just recently staring to play with the other doggies in my foster house.

I am housetrained and crate-trained when my people are away from the house.  I am well-mannered and do not get into anything I should not.  I would not do well in an apartment/condo because I have the bark of a big dog (mom & dad found this out the hard way when they started crate-training me, but I’m over that part now).  I'm a low maintenance guy looking for a home that can show me what it's like to have a forever home full of love and help me gain full trust in humans again.

Adoption fee is $200.
