My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nanuk and Tatanka are a courtesy listing and being placed by their owner for personal reasons as well as an allergy. Snow Dog Rescue is listing these to gorgeous dogs in hopes of finding them the home they so rightfully deserve.

Meet Nanuk!
Age: Born Aug. 1, 1993, making her 13yrs YOUNG. But you'd never know it to see her! She is still very much like a puppy and has lots of energy. She is a stunning purebred gray and white girl with black tips, and crystal blue eyes. Nanuk weighs approx. 35lbs and is the perfect pocket size female husky! Nanuk is spayed, up to date on shots and ready to find that special home willing to love her unconditionally. Nanuk has a wonderful, peppy personality and adores being around people and children. In fact, she has been around young children for many years, and is very tolerant when they try to crawl on her and play with her. She loves attention, but is also very content just peacefully lying near your feet and keeping you company. She is very graceful and agile when she runs, and has moments where she can be quite talkative and express how she's feeling. She is house trained / potty trained and has been spayed. Nanuk is a great girl that has always been in excellent health. Nanuk is also very tolerant of cats and has lived with them most of her life (until recently). Nanuk is also terrific with other dogs, and actually has a buddy that is in need home a home as well (6 1/2 yr old red and white male husky named Tatanka. Bio shown on www.snowdogrescue.com). Tatanka and Nanuk would love to be adopted together but can also be adopted individually for the right home. Nanuk and Tatanka are currently living at their home in West Hills, Southern California until adopted. Nanuk can like to dig if the mood strikes her, so if someone has a prize garden, it's best to keep her away from it. All in all, Nanuk would make someone a wonderful friend and companion. Nanuk would also make an excellent therapy husky and family pet. Please consider being Nanuks last most loving home. She deserves to be loved and given attention. You'd make her dreams come true, and she has so much love and kindness to offer. If interested in meeting Nanuk please complete the application on www.snowdogrescue.com and email to andrea@snowdogrescue.com.

Huskies make great family pals, and love the companionship of other canines medium to xlarge size. They are a pack animal and consider there humans part of their pack. Because of this they truly enjoy being with there humans and canine friends. They are a fun, happy and active breed that promises to make you laugh and keep you smiling. As with any canines they need love and attention to be happy. This breed was born to run, and can be an escape artist easily scaling 6ft fences or finding the one weak spot in your yard. The Siberian Husky can NEVER be trusted off leash or in an ungated area for this reason. Many Huskies are hit by cars, stolen for their beauty, or lost and never returned. Please keep your Siberian Husky leashed and safe, and add needed locks to gates. They’re counting on you! Please read up on the breed to educate yourself, or contact rescue for advice on your new canine friend AFT E R adopting. Rescue volunteers will always be there to help you! Please note when adopting a Husky from the shelter – this breed is not cat friendly. If you have a cat please make sure it IS cat friendly.
