Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hootie is a smooth black/tan dachshund between a mini and tweenie size about 13-14 lbs.
He gets along with other dachshunds, is practicing his housetraining, crate trained, good on a leash. He is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative on prevention, flea/tick control.
Hootie needs an experienced dachshund home without children. He can be nippy if you scare him or he does not know you well. His foster home has not experienced his nipping, but he comes with this history with his previous owner. It is also recommended he does not go to a home with children as with playmates over, he has the possibility of getting over excited with rambunctious children. This should not discourage anyone with experience with dachshunds, as he has been a perfect dog at his foster home. He loves to run and play outside chasing anything that will run. Hootie is just a scared little dog that needs someone that will keep him secure and happy. If you are interested in adopting Hootie, please go to our website to fill out an adoption application. www.almosthomerescue.org If you have questions, email his foster mom at Bunnydog@bellsouth.net Hootie is located in western N.C. Adoption fee $200.00
