Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wuki is between 1-2 years old. He was found as a stray in Milwaukee and brought to animal control. No one stepped forward to claim him, so before he ran out of time I took him in to find him a home. Wuki has never been "my" dog. I took him in on August 23, 2010 for the sole purpose of saving his life and finding him a new home.
Wuki is such a cool dog! I mean really, what an awesome guy! So sweet & social, fun and easy going! Everyone who meets him falls in love. He is the kind of dog who will lay on your lap or when that's not an option he'll lay at your feet. He plays well with the other dogs and can also entertain himself by throwing a toy up in the air and then pouncing on it... very funny to watch. He also likes to quietly sit in the window like a cat & watch the traffic go by. He is quiet, only barking when he sees someone approaching the house, but once they are inside he only wants to run up and greet them.
Wuki gets along great with the other dogs I have had. He is very friendly and stable. He even gets along with my cat. He is very curious about cats at first and that can be off putting to the cat, but Wuki means no harm and if the cat feels so inclined they soon become friends. More than once my cat has been seen playfully chasing Wuki from room to room.
Wuki loves his toys, but can be destructive to them and any tissue or paper products he can get his paws on. Just like any young dog the house will need to be someone puppy proof or Wuki will get himself into trouble.
Wuki would make a great family dog as he gets along with everyone he meets and while I haven't had him around young children he gets along with well mannered kids over 5 years old. The only issue I see with really young children is Wuki will be unable to disipher between "his" toys and the "babies" toys and houses with babies and toddlers are known to have lots and lots of toys all around.
Wuki does shed and needs grooming, but the good news is he is SUCH A GOOD BOY for his brushing & nail clippings. We did recently bring him in for a hair cut. He is so much softer now and as you can see by his pictures... he is cute no matter what.
So far Wuki has been 99.9% potty trained. He has only had one accident in his kennel and one dirty belly band.
At first he was not too keen on going into his kennel, but now he is a pro! He is in his kennel while we are away and at night... he doesn't make a peep anymore.
Wuki doesn't do so hot in the car... he gets car sick 75% of the time. He manages ok, but he would not make a good match for someone who wants him to be a travel companion.
Wuki will not be allowed to go outside with out being leashed or in a 5' or higher fenced in yard. He can easily jump a baby gate so even a four foot fence may not be enough. Remember... he was originally found as a stray... we don't want that to happen to him again.
He has been neutered. He has received his distemper, rabies, & bordetella vaccines. He is heart worm negative and on preventative & micro chipped. He is also over the terrible case of kennel cough he had when I first took him in.
ADOPTION:
Wuki's adoption fee is $300 to cover the expenses I've incurred getting him ready for adoption. Before I select who will adopt him I will collect an application, check your vet reference, and do a home visit to ensure he will be well cared for. My goal is to find the best possible match for his needs and ensure that he will have a FOREVER home. Adoption is a life long commitment. Wuki can not be given as a gift. He must be adopted by his primary care giver. Adopters must practice pet population control by having their existing pets spayed or neutered.
If you are interested in adopting the amazingly wonderful little dog please email me at
Mendelynn@sbcglobal.net and I will send you the application.
Thanks, and have a great day!
